ENCORE 2021 AWCSC Calibration and Calculations
Dr. Bill Haller (University of Florida) discusses how to properly calibrate equipment such as booms, handgun and backpack sprayers to ensure safe pesticide handling and application and compliance with label directions. This session also includes a review of the calculations needed to determine the amount of pesticide and surfactant needed based on area and volume to be treated, application speed, sprayer output, and other relevant factors.

Encore 2023 AWCSC Session 6: Updates from the field
This 100-minute recording has four speakers. Alex Dew from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission provides an update of what the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Aquatic Plant Management program has accomplished over the past year. Jake Thayer with the South Florida Water Management District describes the life history of mission grass, detailing its invasive characteristics, and the District’s efforts to control the species. Dr. Stephen Enloe with the University of Florida provides an update from the UF/IFAS Invasive Species Council and will focus on the Council’s recent activities in improving extension and outreach efforts for invasive species training for stakeholders and what this means for Florida. Jon Lane from the US Army Corps of Engineers discusses the US Army Corps of Engineers aquatic plant management on the St. Johns River and Lake Okeechobee, programmatic updates, tussock management and control post hurricane Ian, update on maintenance control implementation and results on the St. Johns River, chemical usage and use patterns, crew tracking, and research collaborations.
